EDLD 5333 Leadership for Accountability Course Reflections
Self-Assessment
The course assignments attached to this section allowed me to see my principal's point of view. Since the assignment we had a SBDM meeting, but it was short and really didn't cover much. I think our principal relies more on department heads for infomation gathering and distribution.

Learn as a Learner
I have learned a great deal through this course and how I can do more than I thought to improve scores. This course has helped me get out of my tunnel vision of being a currently non-TAKS testing subject. Driven by the serious consequences of school accountability, school improvement is the focal point in the community of professional educators (Jones). I will do more to be actively involved and offer support to the other department and teachers in any way I can.
We will use whatever methods are working and tweak or eliminate those that are not. We continue to use benchmark and six weeks test scores as checkpoints to see if we are track to our target goal. We will continue to keep the community and parents involved and recruit even harder those we haven’t included yet. We will also continue to share our successes with the public.

Lifelong Learning Skills
Our campus goal will generally remain the same, doing whatever we can that benefits the students most, but as we get different principals or other administration leaders the wording of the campus vision may need to be tweaked. We have to identify specific values, traditions, and relationships that you will preserve (Reeves 2007). . I also learned how to understand TAKS and AYP scores more. By analyzing this interim data for trends and gaps in student achievement, local educators are better able to identify individual student learning needs and differentiate instruction..." (Williamson & Redish 2009). I also think the S.M.A.R.T. goal assignment from week three gave me a better perspective.
